I love this post!

I have only been a Nanny now for almost 3 years, so I am still in the very beginning of my Career choice. I too want to one day raise my own children and hopefully can juggle being a Nanny as well.

Right now I raise my 5yo Niece and 8yo Nephew, so it's kind of like my own kids, except they don't call me Mom. I am also a part-time Nanny, and I've been juggling pretty well. It may be different though when I have my 'own' kids.

Thank you ladies for sharing your experiences and thoughts on this topic. I am a Professional Nanny of 11 years and hopeful that I will become pregnant in the future. I think there is definitely mixed reviews from parents here where I live on Nannies who bring their own children to the job. I feel it's a delicate situation which I guess all depends on the family who you are with at the time if you decide to stay working. I have alot of anxieties on this topic especially currently job searching now. Again, thank you :)

i was originally a preschool/daycare teacher when i became a nanny. i did so to accomodate my daughter, i was single mom and had to be able to pick her up from school, etc so it helped to have a more flexible job. she has always been older so was never an issue to bring her to work when i needed to. in fact often, i bring her and a friend with her when i stay overnite or wknds. then i take everyone to mall, or somewhere that can be fun for all ages. it has worked out well, she is now 15. of course, now, she does not like to come to work with me, and esp. since i have newborn preemie triplets, mom is not so stoked to have other kids around the babies yet anyway. so my daughter generally makes other plans with her friends when i have to work on weekends! :)
