So by joining this morning, I was finally able to leave a comment here!<br /><br />Transitioning from a nanny job is a topic dear to my heart, as it always hits me hard when I've had to do it. I've always looked for ways to ease the transition for myself and for the families I work for, especially the kids, and been concerned about other nannies facing the same hazard of the job. This blog is a great idea, since it is accessible and findable by so many nannies who need it.<br /><br />Nannies can connect with each other so many different ways now! Online chatlists, boards, blogs, in-person local nanny groups, and national professional groups such as INA and NANC. This is a subject close to my heart, as it is so hard for me personally and hard to see the children in pain at the loss, when a job ends. I'm always interested in learning more ways to ease the transition for me and for them.<br /><br />It is so helpful being part of various types of nanny groups: online blogs and yahoogroups and such, local in-person groups, and larger professional organizations. The ability to share experience and advice with the only other people who really understand what we do for a living is vital. Increasing our skills and understanding of the job makes it a profession rather than a babysitting job. I also wanted to take a minute and share my thoughts on professional Nanny organizations. <br />Being a member of INA shows others that you are serious about what you do and don't just do it for a "paycheck".
